Overview

Orb · ambient is a noise, binaural beat, and ambient visual app. All audio is generated entirely on your device in real time. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.

Data we collect

None. Orb · ambient does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking. The app itself communicates with no servers of our own. The one exception is purchases: to verify your unlock, the app communicates with Google Play. We receive no personal or payment information from this — only whether the unlock has been purchased on your account. Your payment is handled entirely by Google, and we never see your card details.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only. It is not sent anywhere unless you choose to share it.

Favourites — the preset, binaural, and tone selections you have starred are saved in your device's app storage so they persist between sessions.
Unlock status — whether the one-time unlock has been purchased is stored locally so the app works offline. This is a simple yes/no and contains no payment information.
Debug log — a small text file of technical events (audio focus changes, lifecycle events, and purchase status events, such as whether an unlock was verified) is written to app-private storage. It does not contain your name, email address or payment details. This file is only accessible via the Share debug log button in the Info screen, and only if you choose to share it.

Permissions

Foreground service / media playback — allows audio to continue playing when the app is in the background, as you would expect from a sound app.
Post notifications — used solely to display the playback notification with a Stop button while audio is running. No marketing or promotional notifications are sent.

Third parties

Orb · ambient contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking. The only third-party service used is Google Play Billing, which handles the one-time unlock purchase. Google's handling of that transaction is covered by Google's own privacy policy.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way (for example, if a future version adds optional account features), the updated policy will be posted at this URL and the date above will be updated.
